A good show starts before the first song. I work through the setup and soundcheck, mix for the audience, and help musicians hear what they need onstage.
Every room asks for something different. At Blues Alley in Georgetown, that means paying attention to the sound of the instruments in the room as well as what comes through the PA. A louder band or a different venue needs its own approach.
