I got my start doing technical lead work in school theater: building sets, hanging lights, setting up sound, and helping put on our student festival, Zeitgeist. That led me to recording at Omega Studios, live sound at Blues Alley, and corporate AV at The Watergate Hotel. I still like the hands-on part of the job—listening, tracing a problem, and making the setup work for the people using it.

I pay attention to what musicians need in their monitors and keep the crew in the loop. If something isn’t working, I’d rather trace the problem than keep adding gear or processing.
